With a couple of smart ball manuevers Douglas de Souza in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. 3-0 became the score in the 27th minute when Douglas de Souza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Gilmar Castro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hias Nüssli.
