Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Augusto Cordario took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Erwin Huygens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 4 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erwin Huygens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Erwin Huygens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erwin Huygens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Cordario. Augusto Cordario came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Flavio Vittori could save by the left post. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erwin Huygens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 31st minute of the match. Deodato Magliozzi made in the 35th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Porziano Marchitelli. The throw-in from Arnoldo Mel in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Flavio Vittori was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Augusto Cordario capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Augusto Cordario really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Italy's Deodato Magliozzi got a free kick in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erwin Huygens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Erwin Huygens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Italy's Gomberto Picozzi got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 68th minute, Javier Pinola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaccheo Andolina in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erwin Huygens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 76 in the game by Zaccheo Andolina from a close distance when the talented Erwin Huygens managed to make a qualified save. Velez Sarsfield's players were relieved. Sigfrido Auletta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Erwin Huygens made a huge save. Velez Sarsfield made a substitution. Yiyo Bernal replaced Marcos Pacifico. Arnoldo Mel made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After 86 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Ago Tramp. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Erwin Huygens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Deodato Magliozzi made in the 93rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Porziano Marchitelli immediately put the ball in play.
