Spain's Gabriel Ascaso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. Kraig Fred could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Gabriel Ascaso made a huge save. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Toledo in the 12th minute of play. Cornelio Ruisko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Ranolfo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Omar Toledo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 19thth minute of the game Kraig Fred who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spain's Gabriel Ascaso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Toledo in the 24th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Toledo in the 24th minute of play. In the 30th minute Omar Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Prospero Gabirel got a free kick in the 91st minute. Spain's Jon Cubero shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marcos Ranolfo but with some difficulty. Carles Cherro took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Ranolfo. Marcos Ranolfo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Spain played a much better game than Estudiantes de América and deserved their victory. The Estudiantes de América players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
