After 19 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Eger. When Frank Peletier came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Peletier couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the game, Célio Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 32nd minute. The corner led France's David Barbier to a score. 0-3 in the 32nd minute. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Catarinense in the 36th minute of the match. Joinville Esporte Clube were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Renatinho Favoretto took the corner. The corner ended in Renatinho Favoretto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but France's Maxime Durand did a great save. David Barbier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wellington Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. France's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
