Independiente's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 10th minute of play. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 14th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Viriato Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepe Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pepe Santoro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Barreto went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Pepe Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 23rd minute of play. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Portugal booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hardi Äetma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Pepe Santoro made a huge save. When Raimundo Frans fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Raimundo Frans a yellow card for diving instead. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. In a very dangerous position, a player in Independiente fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty!
