Serbia's attentive Momir Gisic managed to snatch the ball when Edu Quirino made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. After 22 minutes of play, ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's Afonso Loyola made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eriberto Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Eriberto Sá blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to make a save. After 27 minutes, Rasko Nestorovski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Serbia and the ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rasko Nestorovski hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Afonso Loyola sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Borjan Golubovic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serbia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร the free kick. In the 32nd match minute, Serbia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Borjan Golubovic to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Serbia's zone, Gilmar Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal and Gilmar Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Loyola made a kick off. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Vladeta Jovic came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Serbia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladeta Jovic couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Serbia's Borjan Golubovic got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Luiz Fabiano Mineiro in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Serbia's Momir Gisic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Sá in the 71st minute of the match. Eriberto Sá charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eriberto Sá the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Sá to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Sá. Borjan Golubovic got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 92nd minute Afonso Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Loyola in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร booed when Serbia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sreten Popovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
