After some careless play in the Romania defense, Ricardo Bochini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carol Stinga. The Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carol Stinga should have stopped the shot. Despite being the better team, Romania failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
