Dênis Marques took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Dênis Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alun Harmon got free with Arnout Reekers in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldemar Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 27th minute of the match. Lars Meesters struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Waldemar Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Waldemar Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bai Kun Yang in the 41st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Dênis Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldemar Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 60th minute of the match. After having played for 61 minutes, David Eikelkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Eikelkamp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Voyager Soccer Team made a substitution. Diego Rocha replaced Donato De Nicola. In the 63rd minute Alfred Owsiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Marques in the 65th minute of play. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Voyager Soccer Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Waldemar Quintal quite easily take care of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Bai Kun Yang came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Waldemar Quintal in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldemar Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th match minute, Voyager Soccer Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Marques to maneuver through the defense. Many of Netherlands's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Netherlands may have spent more time on the ball, but Voyager Soccer Team were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
