With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Salvidor saved Menchu FC from getting behind. Gabriele Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 16th minute. Sigfrido Auletta took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Salvidor. Camilo Salvidor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriele Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Vittori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 28th minute Gabriele Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Menchu FC's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Salvidor came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Porziano Marchitelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Salvidor was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Menchu FC's Uriel Gorri quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Deodato Magliozzi, made in the 41st minute of the game. 42 minutes in the game Gianpaolo Mascari did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Siricio Liotta. In the 44th minute, Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 47th minute of play. The Menchu FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Italy were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriele Batistuta to make the kick off. Menchu FC's attentive Siro Osasun managed to snatch the ball when Deodato Magliozzi made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. Menchu FC's Basarab Jupân managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gianpaolo Mascari in the 53 minute of the game. If Gabriele Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Siricio Liotta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Menchu FC made a substitution. Herbert Pilarski replaced Uriel Gorri. 68 minutes in the game Siro Osasun did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gabriele Batistuta. In the 69th minute, Roberto Carlo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Pilarski scored 2-3 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavio Vittori, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Italy were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Menchu FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Siricio Liotta took the corner. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mayer Candelo in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute Mayer Candelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
