Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th match minute, Playa Malvín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantijn De Hond to maneuver through the defense. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Mândrilă in the 11th minute of play. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Sandu Mândrilă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Italy's Flavio Vittori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sesuldo Roque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Flavio Vittori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the game, Michael Guisla recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Vittori. Michael Guisla showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The throw-in from Josu Onez in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. 31 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Zé Roberto Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Mândrilă in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match, Sandu Mândrilă tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Flavio Vittori saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Mândrilă in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Zena Busacca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Playa Malvín's Jabier Igual got a free kick in the 44th minute. Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandu Mândrilă in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michael Guisla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The corner led Playa Malvín's Sandu Mândrilă to fire away a dangerous shot which Flavio Vittori despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Playa Malvín getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Josu Onez hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Josu Onez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zena Busacca kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Fred Åkerström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fred Åkerström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 74 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Åkerström came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Roberto Teixeira. Zaccheo Andolina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Espellosa in the 78th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. In the 89th minute Gonzalo Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Italy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Playa Malvín.
