Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Celsinho Cerezos short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Albin Holweck took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emerson Leão. Emerson Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Edvard Gråberg struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sao Paulo Leste FC. After a rather tough play, Sao Paulo Leste FC's Claudinei Nunes got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Edvard Gråberg put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvard Gråberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edvard Gråberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Emerson Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Albin Holweck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Emerson Leão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sao Paulo Leste FC's goalkeeper Emerson Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Edvard Gråberg made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 69th minute of play forced Sao Paulo Leste FC's goalkeeper Emerson Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germany were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Sao Paulo Leste FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frank Sachs took the corner. Emerson Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Holweck in the 72nd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Urtzi came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 75th minute. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edvard Gråberg's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 82ndth minute of the game Edvard Gråberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emerson Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play.
