Arthur Bufi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. Germany's Frank Sachs was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arthur Bufi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Germany booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Bufi was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albin Holweck made a kick off. The supporters of Germany booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavo Quadros was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When Albin Holweck came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Holweck couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Brock Friend had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brock Friend was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Duarte Félix got a throw-in 74 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Brock Friend. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Oswaldo Maranhense broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brock Friend, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Dreifuss during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube could leave the field as winners, despite Germany having more of the ball for most of the match.
