The audience thought a goal was coming when José Puch got free with Casper Claes in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the game, Edward Vanderstraeten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tomas Brandt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alianza Trujillo's Tomas Brandt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 23rd minute of play. José Puchs short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Casper Claes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Yves Dervaux hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Tomas Brandt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Tomas Brandt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jean-Luc Picard hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Puch got free with Casper Claes in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomas Brandt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. When Luis Miguel came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Alianza Trujillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Miguel couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Yves Dervaux could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Tomas Brandt however easily saved by the left post. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Tomas Brandt made a huge save. In the 78th minute of the match Belgium got a corner. Alianza Trujillo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edward Vanderstraeten ran over to the corner to take the kick. 79 minutes into the match, Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Tomas Brandt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Puch in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pudes Vilas in the 85th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Belgium's Yves Dervaux slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomas Brandt. That made the score 0-4 after 88 minutes of play. José Puch struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alianza Trujillo. When Alianza Trujillo's Pudes Vilas in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belgium's goalie prevented a goal. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Puch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
