In the 15th minute Luís Guilherme Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Luís Guilherme Cearense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa Verde FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damian Mouricio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Portugal's Bruno Bastos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bruno Bastos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Portugal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bruno Bastos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damian Mouricio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 67 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Cearense came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 72nd minute of play forced Villa Verde FC's goalkeeper Damian Mouricio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Mouricio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
