Maximo Horquizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a free kick in the 10th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charly Good in the 11th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sporting Buceo's Maximo Horquizar. Maximo Horquizar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute of the match, Wim Wilmes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Maximo Horquizar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Sporting Buceo's Maximo Horquizar got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Sporting Buceo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
