The corner led to Denmark's Simon Bendtsen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Kenn Skou hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Racing Club's Keld Paulsen threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dobri Chelibeev, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Anselmo Shantala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. Theis Winther kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Stefan Termander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute of the match, Adolfo Sotil tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Keld Paulsen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 41 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Sotil. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Stefan Termander came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Termander couldn't finish the play. After 48 minutes, Mikkel Wulff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denmark and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 48 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Mikkel Wulff. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Nygaard made a kick off. 63 minutes into the match, Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilian Martinez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emilian Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 63rd minute of play. Leo Aznaro made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Theis Winther. In the 69th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenn Skou to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Sotil in the 71st minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Cellay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Lars Steen hit a great ball. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Sotil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Christian Cellay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Anselmo Shantala got a free kick in the 85th minute. Denmark's Chris Nygaard shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Emilian Martinez but with some difficulty. After 88 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Shantala. After recieving a nice pass, Denmark's Chris Nygaard tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Adolfo Sotil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Denmark had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
