Basilio Picardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Maxime Durand made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Basilio Picardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Picardo in the 63rd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maxime Durand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Robert Chapuis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Robert Chapuis hit a great ball. Prospero Goizeder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Peletier, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
