Ivan Ţopescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khalid Kennedy having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmos Soccer Club's zone, Kyle Cox stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Gheară came out of the goal and Kyle Cox tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcus Rush hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Kyle Cox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Issac Dawson. After 20 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Clay Pringle. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Issac Dawson came free, but Dan Gheară reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josh Farris received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Khalid Kennedy came out and tried to block the shot, but Josh Farris slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Kyle Cox managed to get in a good position for a shot. England's supporters rose to their feet, but Kyle Cox was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dan Gheară breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Rush could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Khalid Kennedy made a huge save. In the 46th minute Ivan Ţopescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalid Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 48 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Kent Cullen. In the 49thth minute of the game Kyle Cox who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cosmos Soccer Club's Dan Gheară was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Ţopescu made a kick off.
