Deportivo Marplatense's Cristian Bermund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 27th minute of play. Cristian Bermund came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 32nd minute of play forced Deportivo Marplatense's goalkeeper Cristian Bermund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Deportivo Marplatense's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Cristian Bermund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Adolfo Raebert fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Cristian Bermund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars Meesters got free with Cristian Bermund in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gijsbert ter Kruimer succeeded in the game's 76th minute to get real power on a long shot . Deportivo Marplatense's Cristian Bermund hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 2-3! A sloppy throw-in by Egbert Nijveldt in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Deportivo Marplatense's Thomas Kostakos. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Bermund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Bermund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
