CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metod Mlynar in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Daniel Suchy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Almir Tróia put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Henrich Slany. After 27 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Zigmund Maliar. Metod Mlynar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Urtsín Dumont hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, CORINTHIANS's Almir Tróia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almir Tróia to make the kick off. Metod Mlynar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ronaldo Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save CORINTHIANS from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Slovakia booed when CORINTHIANS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urtsín Dumont didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Ronaldo Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vavrinec Koleno in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Passos in the 70th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slovakia's Metod Mlynar got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CORINTHIANS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Slovakia for a fine match.
