The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. 김 담 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Ruy Teles made the kick off in the second half. 김 담 was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. César Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 김 담 made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 86 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. 김 담 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldts short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got 김 담 to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
