After having played for 19 minutes, Balazs Lajos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Balazs Lajos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kléber Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik in the 20th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Antal Valentin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kléber Salles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 23 minutes into the game, Inter de São Paulo's Laércio Loureiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fodor Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Inter de São Paulo's Kléber Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kléber Salles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Hungary booed when Inter de São Paulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After having played for 92 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
