An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Frasquito in the 7th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fernan Ralondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fernan Ralondo. Fernan Ralondo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lars Meesters went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Venezia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Fernan Ralondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Venezia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Hodne to maneuver through the defense. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernan Ralondo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Diego Frasquito recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Diego Frasquito showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. In the 60th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Venezia FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Venezia FC's Angel Guillelmus got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Venezia FC. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Frasquito in the 68th minute of play. In the 78th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernan Ralondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
