The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hansjörg Pothmer hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th match minute, Vorwärts Lübeck was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helge Pihlberg to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Powalina's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Pihlberg came free, but Czeslaw Marosz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helge Pihlberg in the 10th minute of play forced Powalina's goalkeeper Czeslaw Marosz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Helge Pihlberg in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Czeslaw Marosz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 13 minutes Powalina's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafael Förster who took care of the corner kick. Czeslaw Marosz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helge Pihlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Czeslaw Marosz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Pihlberg in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Vorwärts Lübeck's Helge Pihlberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Becker got free with Czeslaw Marosz in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Vorwärts Lübeck's Hansjörg Pothmer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Czeslaw Marosz. That made the score 6-0 after 36 minutes of play. In the 39th minute Hansjörg Pothmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Czeslaw Marosz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Czeslaw Marosz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waldo Gawletta went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Powalina's Emiliano Orain got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute, Helge Pihlberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Czeslaw Marosz. The goal made the score 8-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Helge Pihlberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Czeslaw Marosz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Pihlberg in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute Helge Pihlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Czeslaw Marosz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Fritz Sziedat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vorwärts Lübeck fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. In the 57th minute Fritz Sziedat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Czeslaw Marosz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Helge Pihlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vorwärts Lübeck fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. Tadeusz Gierasik hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Czeslaw Marosz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Helge Pihlberg went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 12-0 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute, Helge Pihlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vorwärts Lübeck fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 13-0. Czeslaw Marosz came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Vorwärts Lübeck's Severino Casero. But to his dismay, Severino Casero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 14-0. Czeslaw Marosz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Casero, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Powalina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ergincan Öztürk to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Powalina's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Pihlberg came free, but Czeslaw Marosz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Becker in the 84th minute of play forced Powalina's goalkeeper Czeslaw Marosz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Powalina's Czeslaw Marosz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldo Gawletta in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match Vorwärts Lübeck got a corner. Powalina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waldo Gawletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hansjörg Pothmer was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 93rd minute Severino Casero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Czeslaw Marosz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 16-0 when Helge Pihlberg sped through Powalina's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Czeslaw Marosz. Helge Pihlberg took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Czeslaw Marosz. Czeslaw Marosz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 17-0. Vorwärts Lübeck walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
