The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Markos Seremetidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Auer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Auer should have stopped the shot. Markos Seremetidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 42 in the game by Markos Seremetidis from a close distance when the talented Fabio Auer managed to make a qualified save. Austria's players were relieved. Michelangelo Merganiotis in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fabio Auer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 45th minute, Markos Seremetidis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Auer was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Markos Seremetidis was the one to do the kick off. Rafael Riedl kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Jonas Nalder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AFC Ajax's Alexandros Sardanis was substituted for Markos Seremetidis. AFC Ajax's Aureo Morera was substituted for Li Kuan Hong. AFC Ajax's Thalis Karteris was substituted for Aleksander Petka. Leonhard Maier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Michelangelo Merganiotis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Emil Seidler fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Austria's protests and gave Emil Seidler a yellow card for diving instead. Alexandros Sardanis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonhard Maier hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Alexandros Sardanis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandros Sardanis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabio Auer didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when AFC Ajax's Alexandros Sardanis shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 13-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After some careless play in the Austria defense, Alexandros Sardanis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Auer. The Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Auer should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that AFC Ajax were the better team. AFC Ajax's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
