The shot missed the goal on the right side and Žydrūnas Pauža ran dejectedly back to his position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Tayfun Tanfer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 12 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Tonon came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Tonon in the 14th minute of the match. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of MarineerS FK's Tayfun Tanfer. Tayfun Tanfer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Emrah Dolunay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tayfun Tanfer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 32nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tayfun Tanfer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 52nd minute. In the 52nd minute, Mehmet Emrah Dolunay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MarineerS FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Lars Meesters scored to the left of an out of position Tayfun Tanfer, making the score, 0-3. In the 60th match minute, MarineerS FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Tonon to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, MarineerS FK's goalkeeper Tayfun Tanfer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Rundell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Tonon in the 67th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 96 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tayfun Tanfer was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
