Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Enrique Cassaretto started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Cassaretto came free, but Ter Stegen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Enrique Cassaretto sped through Ireland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ter Stegen. Ter Stegen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enrique Cassaretto's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Enrique Cassaretto might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ter Stegen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrique Cassaretto ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Torrey Molloy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Calixto Inchaurdi was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Torrey Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A throw-in in the 17th minute of the game was made by Lúcio da Silva with Konstanty Brzęczyszczykiewicz as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Calixto Inchaurdi made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Torrey Molloy sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the game, Peru's Enrique Cassaretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ter Stegen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ter Stegen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Cassaretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrique Cassaretto took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ter Stegen. Ter Stegen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The Ireland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 0-3.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torrey Molloy to make the kick off. If Enrique Cassaretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ireland's Ter Stegen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Ireland from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd minute Torrey Molloy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calixto Inchaurdi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Torrey Molloy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Calixto Inchaurdi. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Torrey Molloy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 63rd minute, Marino Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's Herensuge Colomes was substituted for Martino Armona. Peru's Jorrin Briones was substituted for Enrique Cassaretto. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Marino Pacheco hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Jorrin Briones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ter Stegen was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Ter Stegen was a little too slow when Jorrin Briones got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-4. After a rather tough play, Ireland's Lúcio da Silva got a free kick in the 88th minute. Lúcio da Silva made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Konstanty Brzęczyszczykiewicz. 92 minutes into the match, Peru's Jorrin Briones sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ter Stegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
