The supporters of Netherlands booed when Dragons AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Gomesano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lorenzo Beckman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With an all-out effort, Dragons AFC's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Prime Hock, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 42 minutes into the match, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lorenzo Beckman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lorenzo Beckman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Prime Hock made the kick off in the second half. Lorenzo Beckman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wim Wilmes's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Dragons AFC's Prime Hock got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Prime Hock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Beckman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Beckman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Prime Hock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lorenzo Beckman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Dragons AFC could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
