Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Montoia in the 21st minute of the match. Toninho Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. In the 29th minute, Manuel Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Galvão in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 39th minute of play forced XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fonso Zotillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Hungary booed when XV de Piracicaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fonso Zotillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fábio Montoia to make the kick off. During the 69th minute of the match Toninho Galvão completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. Fábio Montoia ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fonso Zotillo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Balazs Lajos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdir Marquez in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. After 82 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Severino Capixaba. Balazs Lajos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fonso Zotillo having to interfere. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fonso Zotillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fonso Zotillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hungary played a much better game than XV de Piracicaba and deserved their victory. The XV de Piracicaba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
