Villaverde Celeste Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal the free kick. A collision led to Villaverde Celeste Clube getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Edmund Wawrukiewicz hit a great ball. Viriato Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nenko Reza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 15th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Barreto took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nenko Reza. Nenko Reza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 26th minute, Felipe Barreto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nenko Reza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 30th minute of the match Felipe Barreto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nenko Reza skillfully saved the ball. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armandinho Xavier went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Armandinho Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Armandinho Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Villaverde Celeste Clube's zone, Viriato Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nenko Reza came out of the goal and Viriato Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Armandinho Xavier in the 43 minute of the game. Nenko Reza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 44th minute of the match. Roy Makaay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roy Makaay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Roy Makaay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Roy Makaay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 58th minute of play. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Villaverde Celeste Clube from getting a goal against them. After 66 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Bastos. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. The supporters of Villaverde Celeste Clube booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Armandinho Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nenko Reza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 73rd minute. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Armandinho Xavier, made in the 75th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the game, Fabricio Andrade threw the ball into play from the sideline. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Armandinho Xavier quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Roy Makaay got in the 78th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Wilson Amorim handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Roy Makaay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute of the match Armandinho Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Amorim skillfully saved the ball. Edmund Wawrukiewicz hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Nenko Reza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartolomeu Dias's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 86 minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Pimentel who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Faustino Almeida almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza did a great save. Bartolomeu Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. When Armandinho Xavier came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Villaverde Celeste Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armandinho Xavier couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute of the match Villaverde Celeste Clube got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guo Ao ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Villaverde Celeste Clube's corner Guo Ao fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Villaverde Celeste Clube.
