In the 42nd minute, Siricio Liotta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bedrettin Özguven. 47 minutes into the game, Aysan İlbeyi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Italy's Siricio Liotta quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After the first half Italy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Anísio Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Anísio Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Aysan İlbeyi in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. When Adriano Curto came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Curto couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Enis Behiç Cangun came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
