In the 42nd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Jacinto Eleazar hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Inocencio Frichoso to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Ermegildo Heriberto came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Punta Alvear booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albin Holweck didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermegildo Heriberto in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Inocencio Frichoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Punta Alvear fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.
