After 4 minutes, Dinko Stankovic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Croatia and the Inter de Urquiza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eduard Kostelac charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eduard Kostelac the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Croatia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Kostelac to maneuver through the defense. The Croatia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilija Skugor should have stopped the shot. When Tadeo Eguen came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Inter de Urquiza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Eguen couldn't finish the play. The Inter de Urquiza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leopoldo Galtero should have stopped the shot. Ilija Skugor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerardo Matai to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toni Mauzer during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Inter de Urquiza's Leopoldo Galtero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Mauzer in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Damir Pongrac got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tadeo Eguen's late challenge caught a Croatia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, Inter de Urquiza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Polo to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Bosak in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Galtero saved Inter de Urquiza from getting behind. Croatia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
