Hias Nüssli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Venancio Lop charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Venancio Lop the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Venancio Lop hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Basavilbaso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henric Springfält didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Switzerland's Samuele Kunz to fire away a dangerous shot which Orvar Bäckström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Orvar Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuele Kunz in the 24th minute of play. Clemente Rubio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Hias Nüssli made a huge save. Clemente Rubio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Hias Nüssli skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Samuele Kunz came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Switzerland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuele Kunz couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Basavilbaso FC's Clemente Rubio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Hias Nüssli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henric Springfält in the 40th minute. Samuele Kunz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orvar Bäckström having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Basavilbaso FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Switzerland for much of the match.
