In the 14th minute, Leon Silvanito made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Leon Silvanito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Leonel Rodriguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Florentino Urdaspal in the 22nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 23rd minute of play forced Furia Albiceleste's goalkeeper Leonel Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Silvanito might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Silvanito ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Furia Albiceleste's goalkeeper Leonel Rodriguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute of the game Florentino Urdaspal made a throw-in which Ivan Pillud played forward. 29 minutes into the match, Furia Albiceleste's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pimentel came free, but Leonel Rodriguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Furia Albiceleste's Leopoldo Otsando got a free kick in the 30th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Rodolfo Miranda in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Furia Albiceleste's Ivan Pillud. If Leon Silvanito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portugal's Felipe Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Furia Albiceleste's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Leonel Rodriguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Furia Albiceleste's Florentino Urdaspal got a free kick in the 57th minute. Leonel Rodriguez was a little too slow when Felipe Barreto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 2-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leon Silvanito in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Furia Albiceleste made a substitution. Artur Gendolla replaced Silvio Marquez. Felipinho Amorim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Leonel Rodriguez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Daniel Pimentel might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Rodriguez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Pimentel ran back to his position shaking his head. Furia Albiceleste's Denis Ascencio was substituted for Esteban Dolcet. Leonel Rodriguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caetano Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Leonel Rodriguez made a huge save. The supporters of Furia Albiceleste booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Leonel Rodriguez managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Portugal's Felipinho Amorim fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Felipinho Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Leonel Rodriguez in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Otsando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Portugal walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
