An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 11th minute of play forced Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13thth minute of the game Felipe Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Santa Lucia de Merlo's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Florentino Herauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florentino Herauso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 24th minute of play forced Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalkeeper Florentino Herauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Santa Lucia de Merlo's Polo Quinteros got a free kick in the 47th minute. Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young was substituted for Polo Quinteros. The supporters of Portugal booed when Santa Lucia de Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Polo Quinteros didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 53rd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute, M. Agus Young made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Portugal's Felipe Barreto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Florentino Herauso. That made the score 2-1 after 59 minutes of play. Florentino Herauso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 65th minute. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Viriato Moura went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 76th minute M. Agus Young shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florentino Herauso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the game, Felipinho Amorim recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Florentino Herauso. Felipinho Amorim showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
