Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cristian Naike started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Cristian Naike managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vélez Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Naike was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Naike came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 17th minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Vitin having to make a save. In the 21st minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elpidio Vitin came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 37 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Roland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 42nd minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes in the game Santos Fonda did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Guido Luzaide.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. The throw-in from Santos Fonda in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Santos Fonda, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Vitin having to make a save. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipe Barreto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elpidio Vitin. That made the score 1-2 in the 62 minute of play. Vélez Juniors's Godofredo Ado was substituted for Santos Fonda. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Benicio Rivas replaced Benigno Gurutz. In the 70th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 73rd minute of the match. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Roland, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the game, Nicolas Roland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Naike came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Naike in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Nicolas Roland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Nicolas Roland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Nicolas Roland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Portugal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! 96 minutes into the match, Bartolomeu Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elpidio Vitin. Vélez Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bartolomeu Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
