The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frank Sachs got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Albin Holweck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jan Tylinski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jan Tylinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frank Sachs went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jan Tylinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Jan Tylinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 12th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Linus Schwerner to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 15 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jan Tylinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Tylinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 28th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Glany proboszcza's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Jan Tylinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36th play minutes Frank Sachs shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Jan Tylinski and just under the crossbar into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Tylinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great ball. After the first half Germany were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stanislaw Waldoch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Dreifuss was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, one of Germany:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Germany. Frank Sachs hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Roch Frankowski made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Germany's Frank Sachs. The supporters of Germany booed when Glany proboszcza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roch Frankowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albin Holweck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Tylinski having to make a save. Jan Tylinski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Albin Holweck showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 68 minute of play. Albin Holweck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Tylinski having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Glany proboszcza got a freekick which was hit by Krzysztof Paprotny. Germany's Linus Schwerner managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Roch Frankowski in the 88 minute of the game. Jan Tylinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Holweck in the 89th minute of play. It was beautiful to see Germany's Ulrich Stein in action when he in the 92nd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The Germany supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Germany would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
