In the 23rd minute of the match Cezar Berevoescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn skillfully saved the ball. Janik Vogt charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Janik Vogt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Janik Vogt hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pipo Inzaghi in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute Andriy Shevcenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Albin Holweck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the -BZF- Valea Buzăului players grew even worse after the yellow card. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andriy Shevcenko in the 32nd minute of play. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Frank Sachs was slow to take the kick. During this time Germany's players had a chance to rest. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andriy Shevcenko in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andriy Shevcenko in the 38th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Iulian Cozaru tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Rui Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a little luck, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Damian Macovei got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Damian Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to -BZF- Valea Buzăului getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Rui Costa hit a great ball. Damian Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 93rd minute of the match. -BZF- Valea Buzăului were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
