The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 3rd minute of play. In the 63rdth minute of the game Zaccheo Andolina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 65th minute. Zaccheo Andolina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's zone, Adriano Curto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Branislav Velchevski came out of the goal and Adriano Curto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Italy could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA throughout the match.
