An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Pankracy Malicki got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thomas Vollmar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fodor Daniel firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 12th minute Newcastle United were awarded a corner. Zé Paulo Zonta went to the cornerflag to take it. Zé Paulo Zonta made a great header on Newcastle United's corner, it was just that Hungary's Fodor Daniel managed to reach the ball for a save. Newcastle United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 48 minutes into the game, Major Barna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mikolaj Jerzyk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takacs Tibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Mikolaj Jerzyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Hungary players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
