An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 9th minute of play forced Zapniów's goalkeeper Boguslaw Jaraczewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boguslaw Jaraczewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Zapniów's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Boguslaw Jaraczewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Zapniów's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Grzegorz Rekawiczka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Grzegorz Rekawiczka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boguslaw Jaraczewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kajetan Pasterski in the 39th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Blicharz. Silvano Cibran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65thth minute of the game Silvano Cibran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 66 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Nijveldt. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boguslaw Jaraczewski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 73 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Nijveldt. 75 minutes into the match, Zapniów's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Boguslaw Jaraczewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Kajetan Pasterski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Boguslaw Jaraczewski made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Boguslaw Jaraczewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
