Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) Italy's Zaccheo Andolina started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The throw-in from Gregorio Urtsin in the 2nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. Nick Heesen might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Vittori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nick Heesen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th minute Sigfrido Auletta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nick Heesen's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute, Zaccheo Andolina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Georg Hagberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 20th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nick Heesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Porziano Marchitelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georg Hagberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Porziano Marchitelli ran back to his position shaking his head. Zena Busacca kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to Italy getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Zena Busacca hit a great ball. When Ladislao Cordarius came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ágætis Byrjun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ladislao Cordarius couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nick Heesen to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ágætis Byrjun's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Italy's corner Gianpaolo Mascari fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Georg Hagberg quite easily take care of the ball. Sigfrido Auletta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes Ágætis Byrjun's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sigfrido Auletta who took care of the corner kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gomberto Picozzi during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Italy getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Gomberto Picozzi hit a great ball. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nick Heesen went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute, Nick Heesen made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Curto in the 88th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Hans Schulte replaced Nick Heesen. With a little luck, Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg got control of the ball when Adriano Curto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Italy's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ágætis Byrjun had won, even though Italy had held more of the ball.
