Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Pedriza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

In the 53rd minute of the match RACIN DE CHAWEN got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcelino Verdeja heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 57th minute Caetano Galnares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The nice shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 58thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Marco Pedriza had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. A collision led to RACIN DE CHAWEN getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Xulian Abellan hit a great ball. The referee ignored RACIN DE CHAWEN's protests and gave Erlantz Duran a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Marco Pedriza's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 96th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marco Pedriza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
