Thomas Deville sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Dauwen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 15th minute of play forced Bacardi FC's goalkeeper Leo Dauwen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leo Dauwen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Barreto went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roni Coryn, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Roni Coryn came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bob Leerbels received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilson Amorim came out and tried to block the shot, but Bob Leerbels slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. 28 minutes into the game, Roy Voet threw the ball into play from the sideline. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The crowd rose to their feet as Roni Coryn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 3-1 in the 30 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Barreto in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leo Dauwen saved Bacardi FC from getting behind. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bob Leerbels in the 38th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Viriato Moura cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Leo Dauwen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a little luck, Bacardi FC's Leo Dauwen got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Dauwen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Leo Dauwen managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Portugal's Felipe Barreto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leo Dauwen made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Leo Dauwen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 59th minute. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 72nd minute of play forced Bacardi FC's goalkeeper Leo Dauwen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
