Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Joaquim Delgado made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 3rd minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matos Velhos's Heigo Luiga was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 8th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Heigo Luiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After 14 played minutes Matos Velhos got a freekick which was hit by Tord Böcklund. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Sabino Vilhena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sabino Vilhena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 29th minute of play. In the 35th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike van Kampen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Viriato Moura came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viriato Moura couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Sabino Vilhena took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. Mike van Kampen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Durval Meira hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Portugal's Daniel Pimentel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mike van Kampen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Mike van Kampen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The corner led Portugal's Felipe Barreto to fire away a dangerous shot which Mike van Kampen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Jiang Qing Lin came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Portugal's Caetano Moreira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mike van Kampen. Mike van Kampen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. After having played for 73 minutes, Henrique Candal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matos Velhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Candal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mike van Kampen was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Daniel Pimentel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Pimentel really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. Mike van Kampen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Karl Nietlisbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Felipinho Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Matos Velhos's Durval Meira got a free kick in the 87th minute. The audience was convinced that Bartolomeu Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike van Kampen was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 94th minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Matos Velhos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Pimentel ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Matos Velhos's goalie and right to Felipinho Amorim. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Matos Velhos's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Matos Velhos.
