Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Delgado in the 7th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mike van Kampen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Durval Meira made in the 31st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Adalberto Peres immediately put the ball in play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Matos Velhos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Mike van Kampen had in the 39thth minute some difficulties stopping Sigfrido Auletta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Sigfrido Auletta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Porziano Marchitelli hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Mike van Kampen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Matos Velhos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Italy were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. When Italy's Zaccheo Andolina in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mike van Kampen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 82 minutes of play, Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. 86 minutes into the match, Adriano Curto notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen. Mike van Kampen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
