Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Porziano Marchitelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Terry Jamieson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Terry Jamieson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Celso Javiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 21st minute of play. Porziano Marchitelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Celso Javiar. Celso Javiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Milferio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Italy's corner Sigfrido Auletta fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Celso Javiar quite easily take care of the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Porziano Marchitelli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celso Javiar. Milferio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Porziano Marchitelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 45th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Milferio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Siricio Liotta managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enzo Tono was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Milferio defense, Siricio Liotta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celso Javiar. The Milferio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Javiar should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Javiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Tono in the 61st minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Avellaneda in the 65th minute of play. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Avellaneda, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Celso Javiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 68th minute of play. Italy's Eliseo Cutri quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jónsteinn Ásbjörnsson, made in the 71st minute of the game. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Milferio's goalkeeper Celso Javiar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zaccheo Andolina took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Javiar. Celso Javiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Jailson da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. A sloppy throw-in by Jailson da Mata in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. The supporters of Italy booed when Milferio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenios Moutsios in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute Milferio were awarded a corner. Enzo Tono went to the cornerflag to take it. Adriano Curto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Celso Javiar made a huge save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Italy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
