An unexpectedly hard shot by Doychin Konsulov in the 19th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22ndth minute of the game Doychin Konsulov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stuart Byman came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Amorim could save by the left post. 29 minutes into the game, one of Portugal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After having played for 33 minutes, Stuart Byman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VN Keleler's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stuart Byman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Doychin Konsulov came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Lund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hakkı Kenan Pınar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
