Eufrasio Vall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaccheo Andolina's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Italy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Frederico Barros scored to the left of an out of position Flavio Vittori, making the score, 1-1. Mariolo's Eufrasio Vall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 17th minute of play. Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigfrido Auletta couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Umea Loza to make the kick off. 61 minutes into the game, Sigfrido Auletta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eufrasio Vall. Sigfrido Auletta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Mariolo's Eulalio Cristofol was substituted for Benedito Camargo. Porziano Marchitelli made a great header on Italy's corner, it was just that Mariolo's Eufrasio Vall managed to reach the ball for a save. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Mariolo's Eufrasio Vall got control of the ball when Adriano Curto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eufrasio Vall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guiscardo Davide, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 92nd match minute, Mariolo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimo Toresano to maneuver through the defense. Eufrasio Vall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siricio Liotta in the 93rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Eulalio Cristofol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariolo's supporters rose to their feet, but Eulalio Cristofol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Vittori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
